Seeds for Ukrainian Families
UTC is proud to present an initiative to reduce food insecurity in the areas of Ukraine affected by war. This project aims to distribute seed kits to 5000 families, which will allow Ukrainian communities in 5 different oblasts to rebuild their capacity to grow food. While the distribution of food aid must and will continue, giving Ukrainians the resources to rebuild their lives and develop sustainable, reliable sources of food is critical to their survival. By giving today, you can help us meet our goal of $130,000. Seeds equal strength for those affected most by war.
Just $21 can fund an entire seed starter set for one of our 5000 families.
The equivalent of $21 in groceries may feed a family for two weeks at a stretch, but $21 in seeds will help generate the staple crops and vegetables necessary to feed a family for an entire winter.
Why is food security in Ukraine a key issue?
1 in 3 households across Ukraine are food insecure.
A lot of arable land is not usable because of occupation by Russian forces or landmines.
Even where land is usable, supply chain disruptions mean that Ukrainians cannot access the necessary supplies to grow food.
Why our team?
This map shows just one week of our teams’ delivery of aid.
We have established relationships with areas that do not commonly receive assistance, such as rural villages, but are well positioned to grow their own food.
We also have a heavy presence in the areas most affected by war.
No overhead means 100% of your donation goes to seeds and transporting them to the families in need.
Donate today, feed Ukrainian families for the winter!
